CUI Intro

What is a CUI?

CUI, or Conversational User Interface:
Def. A User Interface which communicates or chats with a human.

Instead of typing into the UI, the user can talk to the UI and it can perform the tasks in hand. Sounds like it will save a lot of time while driving and creates a hands-free environment which can become very useful.

Of course, people have started to see this advertised and you may see CUI in your software.

Personally, I see this CUI in Slack when the Slackbot sends me messages to help me with my tasks.

There is also Amazon Echo which connects to Alexa, the cloud-based voice server. Then, it provides information, answers questions, plays music and more through asking. Find out more info about Amazon Echo here.

If you want to build your own Conversational UI, try has already integrated into so many platforms such as Slack, Facebook Messenger, and Actions on Google.
